TWO AWARDS FOR BEST EVENT DRIVEN FUND

LONDON – Marwyn Value Investors LP (MVI), the cornerstone fund of the Marwyn alternative asset management group, has been named Best Event Driven Fund, 2010 in two separate award ceremonies.

MVI posted a gain of 54.72 per cent in Net Asset Value for 2009 (See notes). Since inception in 2006 MVI has posted an increase in Net Asset Value of 86.15 per cent. That compares with a decrease in value of the S&P Private Equity index of -28.17 per cent (as at 31 March 2010) and a decrease in the value of the FTSE Small Cap (ex IT) of -31.85 per cent.

The industry magazine Hedgeweek voted MVI the Best Event Driven Fund 2010, with readers citing Marwyn’s application of a “unique mix of private equity and hedge fund skills” as instrumental in producing significant returns for the 2009 financial year. Global Fund Media, parent company of Hedgeweek, polled a total of 56,000 readers and 20,000 institutional investors.

MVI was also judged to be the Best Event Driven Fund, 2010, by the magazine HFM. A panel of senior industry professionals assessed a combination of quantitative and qualitative strengths in four key areas: performance figures, volatility, risk management and track record. The panel noted that “Marwyn has taken real advantage of the current sea change among small and mid cap UK and European companies”

Marwyn Value Investors specialises in the acquisition and development of growth businesses for the benefit of investors, often taking a significant stake in its quoted portfolio companies. Since inception, the Fund has invested in 11 portfolio companies which together have completed approximately 63 transactions with an aggregate transaction value (including initial public offerings) in excess of £1.3 billion.
